The Heart of HomeTeams

Life wasn’t meant to be lived — or cared for — alone. That truth sits at the heart of HomeTeams. And like every movement that matters, it started at home.
How It Began: A Kitchen Table, Not a Boardroom
Before HomeTeams was an app, a company, or a category of care, it was a simple idea carried in the heart of our founder, Steve White. When Steve’s parents, Dale and Jane, entered the “fourth quarter” of life, the healthcare system offered them two options:high-cost institutional care, or their family carrying everything alone. Neither worked.
They were spending over $12,000 per month on outside help — and still, Dale and Jane weren’t thriving. Dale, a lifelong pastor, had dedicated his life to making strangers feel like family.Jane, a nurse, spent her life helping others feel safe, seen, and cared for. Now, it was their turn to be cared for — and Steve refused to let the system forget them.
So he built something different.
A Team for Dale and Jane
Steve rallied a group of people who loved his parents — friends, neighbors, church members, volunteers — and turned them into a coordinated HomeTeam. They didn’t just visit; they showed up consistently:
grocery deliveries
companionship
medication help
housekeeping
rides to appointments
shared laughter & purpose@ The PC (5)
And something incredible happened:

The impact was life-changing.
The cost of care dropped by two-thirds, to under $3,000/month.
Dale and Jane lived surrounded by love — not loneliness.
The caregivers themselves grew healthier, more connected, and more purposeful.
Volunteers overcame depression, isolation, and fear of aging.
One man even began exercising again — because caring for others gave him purpose.
This became the foundation of HomeTeams: Care is healthier when it’s shared.
The Crisis We’re Facing Today
Nearly 70% of adults over 65 will need long-term care. The average private nursing home room costs over $9,000 per month. Most families can’t afford that. Most seniors don’t want it.
Families, caregivers, and aging adults are overwhelmed — not because they don’t care, but because they’re trying to handle it alone.
There is another way.
The Birth of HomeTeams: A Team for Every Home
What Steve built for his parents is now the blueprint for millions of families.
HomeTeams brings together the people who already love you — family, friends, neighbors, community members — and gives them tools to:
share responsibilities
organize life and health in one place
communicate clearly
learn how to care
respond early instead of waiting for emergencies
It blends human connection, education, and simple technology to help people care for each other — confidently, safely, and together.
Why Team-Based Care Matters
Modern healthcare is reactive.People wait until something goes wrong, then scramble for help.
HomeTeams flips the model by empowering the people closest to you — your real-life “team” — to play an active role in your wellbeing every day.Not as medical replacements, but as partners in support, communication, and early intervention.
When teams coordinate:
crises drop
loneliness decreases
caregivers burn out less
seniors stay independent longer
families feel connected instead of overwhelmed
We are meant to live connected. We are meant to care.
Steve’s Journey: The Heart Behind the Mission
Steve’s vision didn’t come from theory. It came from survival.
A former football player, he endured hidden brain injuries that led to seizures, depression, and years of unexplained suffering. Later, he was diagnosed with Lupus and APS.
He rebuilt his life by caring for others first.
As he cared for single mothers, elders, and neighbors in need, he discovered something profound:
Caring for others is one of the healthiest things a human being can do — physically, emotionally, spiritually. And when he applied that same philosophy to caring for Dale and Jane, the blueprint for HomeTeams was born.
Why HomeTeams Matters Now
Across the country:
Families are overwhelmed.
Seniors are isolated.
Caregivers are burning out.
Healthcare feels colder and harder to navigate.@ The PC (5)
But when people come together, everything changes.
HomeTeams turns friends into lifelines. It reconnects families. It transforms caregiving from a burden into a shared triumph.
Or as Steve says:
“The fourth quarter of life matters. So does the first — and every season in between. HomeTeams exists so no one plays it alone.” Steve White, Founder
The Vision Moving Forward
HomeTeams is just getting started.
What began as one family’s solution is now becoming a nationwide model for:
young families juggling modern life
adult children supporting aging parents
caregivers who’ve been doing it alone
seniors who want independence with support
communities looking for stronger connection
hospitals, clinics, and governments seeking lower costs and better outcomes
We believe every home deserves a team — and soon, every home will have one.
